After first dipping the hat in the water of your bucket or sink use a toothbrush or other small scrubber to rub the cleaner into the fabric.

If there are areas that are especially problematic spot clean them with a dab of cleaning product right on the hat. Rinse the lids with cool water to remove the detergent. You can focus the wiping on the dirties area. Use the cleaning brush each time you wear the hat. Avoid rubbing wool hats too hard or it ll mess up the wool texture.
The best way to clean your hat is to wash it in the top rack of your dishwasher. Spot clean the hat first as needed.
